B) Comprehensive
Course Content - |
|
| |
The
AIM PGDBM programme is run in line with the IIMs, in terms
of content and structure. At the same time, the programme
has been reoriented taking the ground realities and the Indian
and the local scenario into account and after determining
what Indian Corporations seek from its managers. We, therefore,
lay a lot of stress on the self-development of our graduates.
We try to inculcate the right values and attitudes in our
students so that they can give their maximum to the organizations
they work for.
During their two-year PGDBM programme, the students were exposed
to
* 32 different papers covering almost the entire ambit
of management, covering more than 1000 hours of direct faculty
contact sessions;
* Six mid-term and six end-term examinations;
* At least eight quizzes and tests;
* One major project and at least fifteen minor projects;
* Ten field exercises and studies;
* Eight-week summer placement in reputed organizations;
* Four industrial visits;
* Fifteen lectures by prominent personalities;
* Minimum two self-development programmes;
* A week-long exercise in Yoga and spiritualism at the local
Kendra;
* At least two socially useful activities;
* And more than twenty seminars and workshops.

C) Rigorous Selection
Process - |

Admissions
to the AIM are through a three-tier selection process comprising
of a written test, group discussion and personal interview.
The Institute accepts scores of the Common Entrance Test
conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools
(AIMS) called ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions)
On the basis of the marks scored in ATMA and the information
provided, shortlisted candidates are called for group discussions
and interview at Guwahati for final selection.

D) Quality Faculty

The
Institute has a core academic group of 9 regular faculty members
including the director and the controller of the examinations.
The Faculty Student ratio is 1:4. The faculty is committed
to the all-round development of the participants which is
reflected in the hours spent in the classrooms & counseling.
AIM faculty members are active and regular participants
in National & international conferences and symposia.
They contribute to international journals and collaborate
with a broad range of agencies to develop and execute consultancy
projects.
In order to enrich the input process AIM has empanelled
a few visiting faculty members who introduce diversity,
specialization and scope for sharing their own rich and
varied background with the participants.
