AIM announces
admissions to the POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
(PGDBM) for the 2010-2012 Session.
Important Announcement:
The Group Discussion
and Interview for the shortlisted candidates on the basis
of ATMA score will be held on 21st March 2010 ( Sunday).
The schedule will be as follows:
Registration:
8:30 AM
Group Discussion: 9:00 AM
Personal Interview: 9:30 AM
The applicants
will be grouped in groups of ten. They will be given a topic
to discuss for 15 minutes. After that, they will be asked
to write a quick report on the topic discussed for 15 minutes.
The GD marks will be based on both the GD and the written
report.
The shortlisted
candidates will receive call letter from the institute soon.
The list will be also displayed in this website. Applicants
must regularly visit this website for updates
ELIGIBILITY
CRITERIA:
Graduate in any discipline (except Fine Arts) with minimum
of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). Degree Final Year students
are also eligible to apply for provisional admission. Weightage
shall be given to the candidates having relevant work experience,
extracurricular activities and consistent academic performance.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
STEP - I
Must fill up the ATMA Application Form. Details are also
available in ATMA website www.atma-aims.org. Limited number
of ATMA forms is also available at AIM office. It can be
purchased during office hours for Rs. 900/-. Outstation
candidates can have the ATMA Form from AIM by sending a
D/D of Rs.950/- in favour of Assam Institute of Management,
payable at Guwahati. In the ATMA Form, please indicate Assam
Institute of Management as an institute of your preference.
Last date for online registration of ATMA Application Form
is 31st January 2010.
STEP - II
Applicants have to fill up AIM Application Form mandatorily.
AIM Application Form can be downloaded from this website
(www.aimguwahati.edu.in). Filled up Application Form accompanied
with a Demand Draft of Rs.600/- drawn in favour of Assam
Institute of Management, payable at Guwahati should be submitted
at AIM Office during office hours. Last date for submission
of AIM Application Form is 13th February 2010.
Note:
Admissions to the AIM are through
a three-tier selection process comprising of a written test,
group discussion and personal interview. The Government
of India has determined that admissions to professional
institutes should be held on the basis of merit to be determined
through a Common Entrance test, conducted nationally. Assam
Institute of Management has determined that it would accept
the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Association of
Indian Management Schools (AIMS) called ATMA (AIMS Test
for Management Admissions). The test will be held in different
centers of India on 14th February 2010 ( Sunday). Therefore,
students who are desirous of enrolling in the AIM PGDBM
course must appear in the ATMA. The ATMA test has been announced
in the national press( The times of India, 14th December
2009) including The Assam Tribune,(14th December 2009).
In addition, applicants will also have to apply to AIM by
filling up a separate Application Form to be downloaded
from the AIM website.
