Answer: AIM is the acronym for Assam Institute of Management.

Answer: The Government of Assam promoted the Assam Institute of Management as an autonomous institute under the Public Enterprises Department. In 1997, the Government of Assam changed the Institute’s reporting department by a Cabinet Resolution under its Administrative Reforms Programme. Considering the contribution of the Institute in management education, the Government of Assam has restructured and broadened the Governing Body of the Institute and vide a circular in September, 2008, the Institute has been brought under the Directorate of Technical Education of Government of Assam.

Answer: The Institute has on record achieved the distinction of having one of the best placements records of the Institutes in the Region every year. Of the outgoing batch this year, already 90% of the AIM (2015-2017) batch got placements in reputed Corporate Houses before their final graduation.

Answer: The AIM PGDM Programme is specially designed to cater to Corporate Placements covering a variety of subjects in functional areas. The curriculum is very dynamic and tailored made to current Industry demand to make the students more acceptable. In fact the Academic Council reviews the Curriculum every to make the participants more industry savvy. The course curriculum follows the Trimester System of IIM pattern. The Institute uses the concepts of evaluations based on aspects like presentations, case study, assignments, social activity, event management, seminars along with the mandatory end term examinations for each subjects in each Trimester.

Answer: As per the Government of Assam, Higher Education (Technical) Department notification, AIM is managed by a Governing Body. The body consists of members of all major Government Departments and Hon’ble Minister, Education, Assam is the Chairman. The Governing Body besides the Director of AIM as Member Secretary and Chief Secretary, (Govt. of Assam) as member, includes nominees from Gauhati University, Tezpur University, NEC, NRL, FINER, IIT, RGIIM, DTE and a host of other important organizations.
